Dear Parents/Guardian,
CTSS Musical 2012 – A ‘West Side’ Story
Recognising the critical role that the Arts and Culture plays in national identity, community building and education, we are devoted in our bid to ensure that we develop ACTIVE, BRIGHT and CARING Clementeens who are Groomed in Arts Appreciation, through enhanced education. We are hence, pleased to share with you that we are currently in preparation for our third CTSS Musical.

CTSS began her musical journey in 2009, with the staging of To Kill A Mockingbird in the school hall. The production saw a collaboration of 2008 and 2010 batches of ‘O’ Level Literature students to present their examination text on stage. In 2010, with the intention to educate the students through performance about Singapore’s history, the school had stagedKopi Shop Rock, a musical set in the 1960s, where TV first took over the cabaret and the aroma of coffee beans filled the streets. This year, we will be presenting to you A ‘West Side’ Story, where two teenagers find each other amidst inter-school rivalry.

The details of CTSS Musical 2012 are as follow:
Date: 2June 2012 (Saturday)
Time: 7pm to 9pm

Venue: Anglo-Chinese Junior College (Faith Centre of Performing Arts)
Ticket price: $12

Each musical production provides our students with the opportunities to learn outside the classroom, experience the challenges of a large-scale production and build character in the process. Through preparation for the musical, our students will be trained to be adaptable to deal with the many changes that come their way, self-disciplined in managing time and behaviour, persevering to see themselves through the commitment they have made to be part of the project and respectful to their teachers, trainers and peers.

We invite you to join us in this journey to support our Clementeens in the pursuit of their dreams. If you would like to purchase tickets, please ask your child/ward to approach any EL teacher or send an email to ctssmusical@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you there!

Regards
The English, Literature, Art and Music Department
